Here's a little known Charlton back-up from future BATMAN master Jim Aparo just before editor Dick Giordano jumped ship to DC taking Aparo with him along with Ditko, Skeates and others. Writer Dave Kaler was an early fan-turned-pro and, I believe, the man behind some of the earliest East Coast Comic Book Conventions.

Even at its most primitive (and this certainly fits the bill) Jim Aparo's work was always unique, captivating in a manner with which few others could compete. The eyes always have it, even Tiffany's sometimes-scary orbs.
