Volton-Charles M. Quinlan-1940

Charles M. Quinlan was yet another shop cartoonist who, like Bill Everett and Carl Burgos and Paul Gustavson, would do the work and it would be sold to various comics publishers. He was around for more than a decade but never quite made as much of a mark as those other fellas.

Here's an interesting fairy tale kids comic in which early television plays a part and Frank Sinatra--or a reasonable facsimile thereof--turns out to be the Big Bad.

Melba!-Art Saaf/Vince Colletta-1973

Here we see what I believe was the only solo story for this obscure supporting character from the "relevant"years of Lois Lane's comic book. They play her pretty much like Lois, almost as if the Lois Lane of the somewhat legendary, "I Am Curious...Black!" story had gotten her own series. Except, as I say, this didn't seem to last beyond this one episode.

Dragnut Presents Frank 'n' Stein-Bob Bean-1954

MAD did two wacky, zany Jack Webb parodies in the color comic and many years later Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons parodied Kurtzman and Elder parodying DRAGNET in a sci-fi variant. In between there was this low-rent Charlton version of same.

Here's this fella again, here looking more traditional (read: generic) than he did the last time we saw him, but still hanging out with that mystery boy, Blackie.
