If this isn't Howie Post it's someone DOING Howie Post while Howie was doing Walt Kelly! And honestly, I don't think it IS Howie. I get a Joe Edwards vibe from some panels and this being an Archie back-up, that could be correct. Whoever it is, I like it!

Karate On the Moon-Irv Novick/Dick Giordano-1973

The martial arts craze was represented in comic with Marvel's Shang-Chi, Iron Fist and Sons of the Tiger. DC offered up the Karate Kid and Denny O'Neil's Richard Dragon. Here's another little-known martial arts contribution from Denny!

Please, Please...Make Him Forget Her!-Gray Morrow-1970

The late great Gray Morrow did some color comics work in the 1950s and returned to do more around this time in 1970, sitting out much of the 1960s with book and magazine illustrations and covers, movie posters, and a handful of black and white stories for Warren.  

Trumpetski-Ed Winarski-1952

A different kind of Trump. This fella was a supporting character and back-up strip star in one of Timely-Atlas's often interchangeable  girl humor comics of the 1950s, HEDY OF HOLLYWOOD. 

Cmdr. Glenn Merritt-Murphy Anderson-1970

MAJOR MATT MASON COMICS! According to a later letters column, that's what this was supposed to be. The Major and his astronaut and alien cohorts--including Sgt. Storm and Captain Lazer--had been immensely popular toys for several years when DC was supposedly hired by Mattel to do them as a comic. Somehow or another that never happened but, rather than waste the art, a few adjustments were made and we had this 2 part adventure with Cmdr. Glenn Merritt, his sidekick Sgt. Tempest (as in storm) and an alien named Captain Quasar.
