I'm back and I'm bringing with me yet another "Son of Mandrake." This particular comic book magician actually had a sponsor, Omar Bread. See ad at the end.

The Voice of Doom-Bill Benulis-1952
Although quite a memorable artist during quite the complicated times for comic books, Bill Benulis walked away from it all in the 1950s for a career in the postal service.

The Purple Claw-Ben Brwn/David Gantz-1953/1954
Here's a pretty quickly reprinted story featuring an obscure character who remained obscure no matter how many times his stories were reprinted.

The Owl-Frank Thomas-1942
Not the Prize Comics Owl, this one is, in fact, the one that Gold Key tentatively revived in Jerry Siegel's ersatz Marvel style in the 1960s.

Quake and Quisp-1965
Here's the first of several mini-comics which featured everybody's favorite antagonistic cereal mascots form the 1960s. The art looks like Al Kilgore's work to me but I can't find anything to substantiate that.

Alice in Wonderland, or What's a Nice Kid Like You Doing in a Place Like This?-1966
This was, of course, a tie-in to Hanna-Barbera's Rexall-sponsored all-star musical TV special although, on paper, one loses out on the songs and even the all-stars! Children who loved the show were likely confused that Fred and Barney aren't the talking caterpillar here, and Jose' Jimenez not the White Knight. The voices of Zsa Zsa, Sammy, and all the classic voice performers are naturally missing as well. Still, some cute art and a fun story.
