Bernard Dibble was a staff artist at United Features who never made it big despite ghosting, assisting, and occasionally even getting credited on some major strips like THE CAPTAIN & THE KIDS and FRITZI RITZ. He did some humor work in comic books, too, and I always enjoy his work. By the end of the 1950s, he had left the field entirely.

Radio Detective-1948
Radio was the Internet of its day and I love running across comic book stories that simulate radio series, even fictional ones like this.

Magnum, P.I. -Edgar Hodges-1983
In this country the soon to be rebooted (sans Selleck) MAGNUM, P.I. never had its own comic book but in England, there actually were MAGNUM comics stories. A little low rent but not bad. I think fans of the series would probably have enjoyed this at the time.

Super Chicken-1969
One of the funniest animated series of its day and a real influence on the kind of humor that would follow right up to today on the better cartoon series.

Captain Kiddeo, Space Bum-1954/1958
Credited to the Iger Shop, this story originally appeared in a MAD rip off comic book but was later reprinted in a straight sci-fi comic. This is that latter version, post-Code. Not sure what if any changed were made.

The Asteroid Witch-Murphy Anderson-1950
If there were any doubt that this was a weird little Flash Gordon pastiche, the Raymondesque pose of the less than Flash-like lead character in the splash panel will get rid of it.

Grabbit O'Rabbit and Hosmer Hound-1946
Another beautifully drawn funny animal tale here but I have to say was what really grabbed me on this one was the title character name--Grabbit O'Rabbit!

Sis-Bill Woggon-1952
Woggon's work is always great fun. Here he takes his surreal inspiration from Max Fleischer's OUT OF THE INKWELL cartoons, with Sis serving as Koko or Betty Boop.

The Count-Fred Schwab-1949
The other day I spoke with someone on Facebook who was telling me that they once met cartoonist Klaus Nordling and also cartoonist Fred Schwab. Here we have a story signed by Nordling which is, in fact, ghosted by Fred Schwab according to GCD.
