The Clippers-Irwin Hasen-1945

Best known for his work on the DC/All-American line and later his DONDI comic strip, I stand by my contention that his humor strips were actually his most fully realized work.

Suzie-Claire S. Moe-1943

Best remembered as a MY FRIEND IRMA clone with a Veronica lake hairdo in stories drawn often by Samm Schwartz, the SUZIE strip actually predated IRMA. Here's an earlier version with a whole different style and sensibility, drawn by one of the rare female artists of the day.
