Don Q, international man of mystery, here comes across as essentially Eisner's Spirit with a monocle instead of a mask, all nicely drawn by Vernon Henkel.
You nailed it with your characterization of Don Q. And of course, derivative or not, it was a pretty good little story.
But I don't know whether to laugh or groan at the attempt in the final panel to say “Hey! It's not really silly! This was India!” (Especially when one considers that the peculiar elements were effected not in India but in Afghanistan.)
