Bill Woggon was one of those artists--like Dick Briefer--who became so identified with one specific series that it's easy to forget they could do anything else!

Kate King, Reporter-1962
The art here--credited by GCD to Russ Manning but I'm not quiiiiite sure I agree--reminds me of the great newspaper story strips of the '50s, '60s, and '70s!

Minute Man-Phil Bard-1943
Comic books in World War II were a major source of Allied propaganda with superheroes from most publishers pushing War Bonds and Victory Bonds to kids and their parents on a regular basis. Kay McKay, Air Hostess-Art Saaf-1941
Nowadays, it's just mostly arguing with drunks or, if you're at United, dragging people off the plane. Back in the day, however, there was a lot more to an air hostess than the old "Coffee, tea, or me?" image. At least THIS one!
