MISTER BREGER was a long-running newspaper strip started by cartoonist Dave Breger when he was in the army. Some sources credit Breger with the earliest use of the term, "G.I. Joe." This is a Charlton back-up strip done not long before the artist's death and may, in fact, have been ghosted as was the case with most--but not all!--strips to appear in comic books.
