Cowboy TEX THOMSON debuted alongside SUPERMAN in the very first issue of ACTION COMICS in 1938. Following the trend of the day, he soon became superhero MISTER AMERICA. In this 1941 story, he jumps on another bandwagon when he picks up a comic sidekick in FATMAN. Eventually, Tex renames himself yet again, this time to the Americommando. Although seemingly a permanent trivia question for decades, the character was eventually revived in Roy Thomas's ALL-STAR SQUADRON and later in HERO HOTLINE. In DC's controversial 1993 Elseworlds mini-series, THE GOLDEN AGE, both Tex Thomson and Fatman play prominent roles in the twist-heavy plot.
