The Governor and J.J.-1970

I thought perhaps this was Jose Delbo art but GCD doesn't know and lists the previous issue--which I don't have--as being by Henry Scarpelli. Whoever it is, this is a nicely drawn strip based on the 1969-70 TV sitcom THE GOVERNOR AND J.J.

It would be rather hard to draw a young Julie Sommars accurately, but she was an especially attractive woman.

(At this point, some Julie Sommars fan is going to stumble-in, and insist that she's now a 72-year-old fox. We should just smile politely.)

Seems like back in the day, EVERY TV show had a comic!
I guess Gov. Drinkwater was more or less inspired by Barry Goldwater. And I recall seeing Julie Sommars on "Matlock" and she still looked pretty good.

Se was a beautiful woman in her early and mid-50s, when she made occasional appearances on Matlock, and it wouldn't surprise me if she were a beautiful woman to-day.
