Jughead-Al Hartley-1968

Here's a bizarre story in which Veronica and the girls of the UGAJ (United Girls Against Jughead) bring in one Agent Heartbreaker, who gives the impression of being a bit of a high tech sex worker (or would in a Dan DeCarlo story but THIS is an Al Hartley story!). Jughead is literally kidnapped and brainwashed with some pretty CLOCKWORK ORANGE style "therapy," on stage in front of an audience, yet! So. Freaking. Weird.

Soozi-Bob Oksner-1967

This black and white strip from the mid-sixties is remembered for its lovely art by the great humor cartoonist Oksner. It's basically a re-do of MY FRIEND IRMA about a classic ditzy blonde, or even MLJ's similarly titled SUZY. So ditzy, though, that the strips are somewhat cringeworthy today. Here's the first week, though.

Electro-John Jay-1946

This adventure by the perhaps pseudonymous John jay was buried in the back of a funny animal comic!

J'onn J'onzz-Joe Certa-1964

Glad to see the Martian Manhunter finally getting some mainstream pop culture respect from his recent appearances with Supergirl. Never understood how sidekick Zook could get away with being naked in a Code approved comic when even Fin Fang Foom and his ilk were forced to wear giant shorts!

The Story of Eggbert-Walt Scott-1956

Happy Easter--NEA used to syndicate special holiday strips that only ran a few weeks. Here, from 60 years ago, is the special easter strip by Walt Scott, best known for THE LITTLE PEOPLE.
