Reading the ending of this particularly slapsticky JOHNNY THUNDER tale, I can't help but wonder if Grant Morrison saw this as it presages his existential bits on his ANIMAL MAN run decades later. Johnny Thunder, of course, was (for some reason) a founding member of the Justice Society of America although his magic Thunderbolt--missing here--usually saved his hide.

Not to overpedanticize or anything, but Johnny Thunder was not a founding member of the JSA. He was the first new member, when founding member The Flash got promoted to honorary status, but that ain't the same thing.
