In the early days of Marvel's yellow-costumed Daredevil, a joke was that only a blind man would wear a costume that bad. Conversely, I always thought DC's blind do-gooder here was THE best dressed JSA member. I means, seriously. Spectre? Green shorts, cape, saggy boots, and unnecessary gloves? Come on!

Great post, Steve. Dr. Mid-Nite and Mr. Terrific were always my favorite golden age DC heroes. Even if the stories weren't always memorable.
