THE MAN IN BLACK was a fifties Harvey light horror title with a well-dressed but ghostly narrator very similar to those of the many Charlton mystery titles of the later sixties and seventies. Looking at these stories now, with their demi-gods and goddesses, they also seem perhaps a distant influence on Neil Gaiman's SANDMAN. Art here is by veteran Bob Powell--some of his best I think. A sixties revival attempt of the series went nowhere and a nineties revival went virtually unnoticed.
