Morris Marcus (as opposed to the comics artist Marcus Morris) signs this out of the ordinary tale from a late 1953 issue of CRIME MYSTERIES. As Asian detective more in the tradition of Mr. Wong than Mr. Moto, the Fantastic Dr. Foo used actual magic in solving his cases--an unusual thing in the days when crime comics were all blood and guts and the pretense of "crime does not pay." It was sure paying for the publishers!
