I really wish Norman Maurer had been a contributor to MAD. His Three Stooges stories show he could handle that manic style but then "filler" like this looks for all the world like EC spoofery!
Of course Maurer and Kubert would launch their own Mad ripoff, "Whack." The most interesting aspect is the role-reversal of the main characters. Good as it is, it can't hold a candle to Mad's "Bringing Back Father": its own gimmick was alternating pages drawn in the McManus style by Will Elder with stark, noir-style pages by Bernie Krigstein.
