Thanks to Al Capp and Li'L ABNER, comical hillbillies were big in entertainment in the forties and would remain so right through the sixties and into the seventies! This one was not particularly funny but it is interesting to see just what lengths the anonymous artist went to in order to ape Capp!

This looks more like Capp than Frank Frazetta's "Looie Lazybones" - and Frank was an assistant to Capp! Wonder if this artist also worked for Capp?
