Cap Thunder of Thunder Island-1941

It's often said that DC should have re-christened Captain Marvel with his originally intended monicker rathe than the name of the old wizard. That would be Captain Thunder...but THIS ancestor of Lloyd Bridges seems to have more or less claimed that.

Just after DC started publishing SHAZAM!, they did a one-off tale in Superman #276, featuring "Captain Thunder" and his teen alter-ego "Willie Fawcett" (who received a magic belt from Indian shaman Merokee, which, when used with the word "THUNDER!" turned the teen into the adult Captain Thunder!
I suspect it was done before DC acquired the rights to the Fawcett Captain Marvel, though it was published after Shazam! #1 came out!
