The Girl Who Saved the World-Joe Orlando-1956


Not the most original story in the world but some nice Orlando artwork.

I agree. It's quite pretty and fetching. Though EC generally had better stories, the layouts Al Feldstein forced on the artists could be kinda crabbed, not as open and breezy as this.

Over time Joe Orlando's art got uglier and uglier. It could be pretty cool ugly at times, though!

Um, wow. There was a late 50s'/early 60s' Tales to Astonish or similar title story with the SAME PLOT. I remember seeing it in Where Monsters Dwell or something, where the invading aliens keep trying to bombard this guy on a bench and you find out in the end he's blind.
