This, one of the very last published stories of Namor's original run, contemporary with the last 1940s issue of his own mag, lifeguard Subby responds to a call for help on the beach, is taken by a little bald gent to a pool where he is attacked, easily beats his attackers, and then easily foils the bald fella's robbery scheme. A sad "ending" for a strip that started out so far ahead of the rest of the pack less than a decade earlier. Of course, he didn't stay gone for more than a few years...and then a few years more.
