Lash Lightning-Harvey Kurtzman-1942

Here's some very early pro Kurtzman material. As evidenced by his college work, his unique style was already formed and yet here he is trying his darndest to fit into the mainstream...and failing miserably. His characters are stunted, his action sometimes hard to follow and his superheroes not the most superheroic looking ever. He found his niche, though.

Gee, I don't agree at all. I love this stuff, and treasure the old issue of TCJ which collected a decent sized sampling of Kurtzman's early genre work.
