Here's some very early Kubert war comics at Harvey of all places. For a man whose much lauded career has been highlighted by his WWII stories, it's interesting to see this one from just after the real thing.
Wow, looks like a really strong Simon & Kirby influence there. I could easily imagine Kubert doing some similar gawky superheroes at that point in time. Whenever he first did Hawkman, he could probably have done him much sooner!
