This is a rerun, originally posted 5 1/2 years back at BOOKSTEVE'S LIBRARY. It's one of my favorite radio series and one of my favorite adaptations of a radio series.
Somethings just worked better on radio, where the audience had to imagine what they looked like. Fibber McGee's closet and Jack Benny's vault always struck me as being two of those things.
