Congo Jim-Pierce Rice-1951

Some okay art here and not a bad story as these jungle adventures go I guess but I have to admit I chose this for its blatant disregard for even the pretense of originality. Alex Raymond's Jungle Jim premiered in 1934 and his comic book imitator Congo Bill put on his pith helmet toward the end of the decade. "Hmm...Let's see. What should we name our guy? CONGO Bill...Jungle JIM...Saaaaay!" LOL.

Haven't seen that much blue and purple in a forest setting since Disney's Pocahontas.
