Here we have the 3 Stooges--or at least their copyright-free near knock-offs. These guys were, of course, the sidekicks to the Golden Age Flash for many an adventure. In this case, we see a rare solo story.

Johnny Weissmuller-1949
Olympic swimming champ, Hollywood gossip column favorite, ERB's Tarzan, and later--when he wasn't quite in good enough shape to parade around half-naked on the big screen anymore--Alex Raymond's Jungle Jim, here's a sanitized, Cliff's Notes version of the early life of America's favorite white jungle king.

Spacemouse-Frank Carin-1954
Here's another great Spacemouse story! Well...not really. Oh, the story's pretty good. It's just that it's not really Spaemouse. Not Walter Lantz's Spacemouse, anyway. This fella actually had a claim to the name first, appearing in no less than four Avon titles several years before the other squeaky little guy!

The Bad Man-Gene Colan-1956
Always amazes me that Colan's art is so recognizable and familiar so long before his glory days on Daredevil, Dr. Strange, and Batman.

Little Grouchy-1955
Seems like it was either Archie clones of Dennis the Menace clones after the Code came in. Here's another of the latter.

Tarz an' the Apes-Marie and John Severin-197
In Harvey Kurtzman's classic MAD comics, John Severin parodied Tarzan not once but twice. In CRACKED over the years, he also parodied Tarzan more than once. Here, in a Roy Thomas-scripted parody dedicated to Kurtzman, he does so yet again, in a Marvelous collaboration with sister Marie!
