Little Sabrina and Friends-Dexter Taylor-1981

Barefootz-Howard Cruse-1972, 1976 (R.I.P. Howard Cruse)

Freddy Firefly-1947

This rare superhero series from EC Comics' earlier incarnation originally had its hero looking very much like a buggy Human Torch. Perhaps Martin Goodman complained because here, in his final adventure, Freddy glows and burns oddly in shades of green.

A Waggy Dog Story-Jack Davis-1958

One of THE all-time great jokes and one of my personal favorites , illustrated here by the late, great Jack Davis!

Robin-Jim Mooney-1948

Here's another old-time radio themed story, drawn by a young Jim Mooney ghosting for Bob Kane.

Krazy Kat-1951-1952

I've always been fascinated by this majorly off-model series. Even the cartoon series of a decade later, in spite of its low budget, looked more familiar to old time fans than this run did.

The Green Arrow-George Papp-1948

Here's a colorful Batm...I mean a Green Arrow story from the period in which Green Arrow and Speedy were pretty much Batman and Robin with arrows and without capes.
