Our DVD website is back up after several months down for maintenance. We've removed anything that's since come out commercially and in fact replaced our earlier versions with the legit releases where possible. Before he became stuck in the middle-class rut of MAD's "Lighter Side," Dave Berg was known for his war comics but, on occasion, he would already head over to that lighter side. A silly side, even.

An early, not particularly creative but still fascinating appearance by one of the earliest of the cult artists, Bernie Krigstein.

The Newsboy Legion-Jack Kirby-1943

Not a political statement at all, just a particularly good story, presumably written by Joe Simon. GCD says inks are by Arturo Cazaneuve. 

Destiny-George Brenner-1944

This character reminds me a bit of Ditko's Mr. A. 

The Ghost-August Froehlich-1941

Another Eisner-Iger Studio graduate, Froehlich started out doing movie poster art before getting into comics.
