These pages are from 1940 but reprint the daily newspaper strip from 1933, reformatted with word balloons and now in color. Spouse adapted and drew a half dozen or so of the original Baum novels during the strip's brief run.

Invasion of the Volcano Men-Jack Kirby-1957
Just as the King created the FF based on his Challengers of the Unknown at DC, here we see him at DC with Volcano men several years before he came up with the similar Lava Men at Marvel.
