It is my recollection that separately the were two series of books, Hopalong Cassidy and Bill Boyd Western. Is this the only instance of the character and actor having their own books. For instance, I don't recall a Durango Kid series coupled with a Charles Starrett book.

You are completely correct only this story is from neither. This is from Ziff Davis's FAMOUS STARS.
