Sure, Charlton let him go to town with some pretty wild stuff just a few years later, but Marvel wasn't exactly keeping a tight reign on the wild art of Tom Sutton, either!
And the main character here seems surprisingly recognizable from the day's news.
Tom Sutton was our favorite comic artist since early childhood... Cool post !!
ReplyDeleteI vaguely remember encountering this story as a teen. At that age, I hadn't heard of the 1955 Orson Welles film, Mr. Arkadin, where Welles played a character named Gregory Arkadin. Not bad; Sutton only changed one letter in the name.
ReplyDeleteThe good Sir John, at "Monster Magazine World" found that "Horror-Mood" Alice in Wonderland tale for me, as we.. have a great week !!
ReplyDeleteHave (the remains) of a late 60's (Marvel) comic with "Mr. Craven Buys His Scream House" by Mr. Sutton...
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite journeymen. Deserved a much better career (and probably life) than he had. But he sure loved the funnies.
