Unlike most of the 'movie star' comics, the dialog in this one seems like something that the Jerry Lewis character in a movie might have said. Kind of makes me wonder if Mr. Lewis had a hand in writing this. I've seen interviews and he seemed to be very protective of his character - enough so that he wouldn't want the usual poorly written dialog in a 'movie star' comic to damage his character.
It seems like the humor comics were allowed a little more leeway by the CCA. I recall some jokes or sight gags in early '70s Marvel comics that surprised me at the time for their risque nature.
Sorry, but there's no mention of "monsters" in the CCA guidelines. The actual clause is:Scenes dealing with, or instruments associated with walking dead, torture, vampires and vampirism, ghouls, cannibalism, and werewolfism are prohibited.
Also, how would (for example) Atlas Comics have had their successful run of monster features in the late Fifties / early Sixties if that were the case?
Um, what's the countdown for?
