Fred Allen's humor has not aged as well as Jack benny's but still a major player in 20th century comedy. Once past the great splash, the unknown artist seems to go out of his or her way to avoid actually drawing Fred as much as possible.
One might argue that Fred's humor has actually aged rather well, as witnessed by his clever, witty appearances on ancient television programs. What hasn't aged quite as well is Allen's supporting ensemble. It is here where Benny had him -- and just about everybody else -- beat by a mile. Goodness, I think I've just ventured into TRALFAZ territory!
