Although he started out more akin to The Shadow or the Green Hornet, The Clock by this time was--like Midnight--pretty much a full on Spirit clone, right down to the style of the splash page. Ironically, Brenner's original character is sometimes considered to have been an influence on Eisner's Spirit.
