Superboy-George Papp-1961


By request, here's the debut of General Zod (and the Phantom Zone I believe) from a 1961 issue of ADVENTURE COMICS by the unsung George Papp who drew both SUPERBOY and GREEN ARROW for ages and yet is sadly barely remembered today.

    Clearly, they lifted the concept, including the typewriter bit, from the second Superman movie serial in 1950.

    Which in turn lifted it from 1949's Action Comics 131.
