Death Picks a Victim-Bob Powell?/Martin Epp?-1946

Labelled "A Martin Epp Feature," GCD nonetheless questions as to whether this was drawn by Bob Powell, undoubtedly due to the inclusion of the shadowy Death character, a doppelganger for Powell's classic Man in Black (called "Fate"). Either way, it's a well done creepy tale from the early post WWII-era.

  1. Marty Epp was part of Team Bob Powell. I believe he was the letterer. The artwork is pure Powell--the odd page layouts, the distinctive faces of the unshadowed characters, the heavy areas of black all point to Powell's hand.
Perhaps Powell was giving Epp a little perc for all his hard work.
