Skunk jokes, Hitler jokes and Hell jokes. A bizarre combination in a funny animal tale by an unknown writer and artist and yet it all seems to combine for an almost modern effect.

As here, some of the golden-age funny animals stories from the more marginal publishers remind me of later, “underground” comics from the late '60s and early '70s. I don't know to what extend the earlier comic inform the later comics, and to what extent they simply proceed from something shared and prior to each.
