Yes, a good 75% of the horror comics stories that didn't come from EC were often poorly drawn, gory, familiar, and just plain disappointing. But then you run across one of those guys who could have held his own with Davis, Kamen, Craig, Wood, and Ingels any day of the week, and with his own unique style! Yep, that was good ol' reliable Bil Everett, as seen in this example.

Sky Girl-Matt Baker-1947
Certainly a lot of leg in this JUMBO story, courtesy of GGA expert Matt Baker, but notice also the wonderful facial expressions he gives the characters.

The Blue Streak-Headline-1945
As near as I can tell, this particular Blue Streak is unrelated to the Blue Streak whose adventures we've posted here before. I guess there's room in this old world for more than one Blue Streak.

When the Gizmo Blew a Gasket-Sal Trapani-1967
Unlike many stories we've posted here, this one is not in any way an ersatz Archie story. In fact, this one could be seen as an ersatz Dilton story! With an ersatz Big Moose, too!

Headline Heroines-1950
Coming off a big weekend for women, thought we'd share a brief historical heroine bio. GCD credits this maybe to John Giunta but I'm not seeing it.

Betty and Me-1969
Well, here's an interesting story which surprisingly gives every indication that good girl Betty fully plans to "give herself" to Archie. Not only is it hard to misinterpret this but I actually used to know a girl who told me this was exactly how SHE...well...YOU know! In this case, though, plans go awry, alas.
