When this public service comic book was published in 1973, soap opera, western, and war artist Frank Thorne was in the middle of successfully reinventing himself as a wizard as well as one of the reigning Good Girl Artists of the 1970s. with Marvel's RED SONJA. The green ghost signals that this is an ACG story. In fact, it's one of the ACG stories drawn pseudonymously by EC great Johnny Craig!

Captain Kid-Al Lieberman-1948

This guy wasn't always an Archie clone but by this point in his long run as a Fawcett back up, he seemed to be just that. 

Bitter Victory-Bill Everett-1952

Sticking with the romance genre for a bit, there's no real story here--more of an incident, let's say--but this one's a little more fleshed out than yesterday's one-pager. The real treat here, though, is the absolutely gorgeous artwork of Bill Everett shining at one of his several peaks!

This is a new candidate for the single worst comic book story--and yes, this is all of it--that I have ever seen.

Supermouse-Milt Stein-1944

Mighty Mouse, of course, won the "super animal"sweepstakes but there were plenty of other entries before and even after a clear winner emerged. Super Duck, Super Rabbit, Captain Marvel Bunny, Atomic Mouse, Atomic Rabbit...but here's a fun little fella, too! Supermouse!
