Stick with this one past the first couple of fiche scans and you're in for a colorful and exciting adventure--scripted by Uncle Mort!-- with the early brown haired GA and Speedy fighting devils in Gayland!

Ginger Snap-Bob Kane-1938

We posted a GINGER SNAP episode a few years back but it was poor quality. Here's a much better quality one--and funnier to boot! I'm gonna go out on a limb and say teenage Bob Kane actually drew it, too!

Brass Buttons-Gray Morrow-1956

Looks like artist Gray Morrow drew himself in as the blond guy here. At this point, Grays art was similar to Doug Wildey's, possibly because both used somewhat obvious photo-reference. Looking back now, though, it caused their art to definitely stand out from the pack of not always good comics artists.

Rex, King of the Deep-Alden McWilliams-1941

Al McWilliams is often confused with the later Al Williamson and both were--as easily detectable here--influenced strongly by Alex Raymond. McWilliams' decades-long career saw a ton of impressive, smooth artwork flow from his pencils and pens, but largely under the radar.

The Mysterious Mr. Wu-Maurice del Bourgo/Charles Nicholas-1946

Lots of vaguely Eisneresque art on this post-war SPIRIT clone from Timely of all places! his odd crime-fighting team apparently only had one other outing.

Rex Dexter of Mars, Interplanetary Adventurer-Dick Briefer-1941

One of the great early stylists of comics art, Dick Briefer is justly remembered for his Frankenstein series but his other series are also fun, this one seemingly channeling his oddball contemporary, Fletcher Hanks.
