Little Vinegar-Gay Comics-1947

Definitely some lively cartooning going on here with that checkerboard outfit lending itself well to all the shenanigans. The sound effects lettering is somewhat inspired as well.

Hydroman-Ben Thompson-1942

By request, here's the story that Hydroman contacted Rainbow Boy about last time out. The latter only appears in cameo here although the two heroes did team up a number of times in HEROIC COMICS.

Rainbow Boy-Ben Thompson-1942

Carnak-Frank Brunner-1969

Frank Brunner was one of the most popular comics artists of the 1970s in spite of a relatively small output. Here's one of his earliest published stories, from CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN, looking like a very progressive fanzine piece, perhaps, but full of excitement and energy.

Inspector Dayton-Rafael Astarita-1943

This guy was good. Rafael Astarita was a Brooklyn-born veteran of the Eisner-Iger shop when he was on staff at Fiction House as seen here. He later became Art Director at Standard Comics and, after the comics purge, started a successful ad art agency.
